what we do

What do we do at Mess Hall?

At Mess Hall Arts our specialty is messy art, the kind of art you don’t want to do at home! But what exactly does that mean?

We embrace all things art that are messy from splattering, pouring, rolling, smearing, scraping to piping and finger painting. We encourage imagination, creativity and exploration of mess.

Our primary medium is paint, we love to get paint on our hands. But we love doing all types of art. We focus heavily on the creative abstract arts allowing artists to see art from their own unique interpretation. No two pieces of art look a like at Mess Hall Arts. The beauty of abstract art is no prior experience or skills required! Anyone can be an artist!

When you come to one of our art experiences, be that a birthday party, private event, field trip, neon or one of our kids art programs, you’re in charge of the product you create. There’s no right or wrong way to make art at Mess Hall Arts and thats the way we like it.

during.

We will provide each participant: paint, tools, one 16x20in or two 8x10in canvas, and optional disposable gear including, gloves, shoe covers and poncho or apron. Please wear clothing and shoes that can get messy.
A creative/artist will be on-site to help with paint techniques and tools.

after.

You will get to bring your masterpiece home after your session! We have custom boxes that fit our 16x20in canvas or 2 of the 8x10 canvas available to bring home art after the session.
For all other larger custom canvas sizes, we ask that you come prepared to take the canvas home as we do not have space in our studio for storage.
For acrylic pouring, art generally takes 24-72 hours to dry. Putting it in an area that is dry and cool with air flow will speed up dry time depending on the amount of paint used.
We are not responsible for any damages to art after it leaves our studio.
